Bare Escentuals, through its two primary brands Bare Escentuals and MD Formulations, is the market leader in the fast growing mineral based cosmetics and skin care category.

The Company's products are distributed through a variety of channels including direct response television (infomercials and QVC), wholesale accounts (Ulta and Sephora), company owned retail boutiques, and spas.

York Street has been an investor in Bare Escentuals since the June 2004 buyout by Berkshire Partners and JH Partners, and provided incremental capital to support a recapitalization in February 2005.

In June 2006, York Street proposed, structured and led a $125 million holdco note facility to support a recapitalization of Bare Escentuals by Berkshire Partners and JH Partners. York Street invested $75 million. York Street successfully realized upon its investment with Bare Escentuals’ IPO in September 2006.
